      **** The ******* Police

      I just got out of lockup
      They fucking arrested me for "obstruction of pedestrian traffic" and "obstructing police procedure"
      I got to spend the night in the county holding center BECAUSE I WAS SITTING ON A FUCKING BENCH!

      I was at a concert and I was waiting for my friends to show up and they told me to get up off the bench(that was on public property) and when I asked them why, they cuffed me and threw me in the squad car.

      Yeah Merlock, I know what you mean. I was just asking why they wanted to move... I was actually up and starting to walk when I got grabbed.


      I went in to court at 10am, and my public defender got the case dismissed on the grounds of (my words, not hers) "It's a bullshit charge"... but using legal terms.

      I'm gonna talk to my mom's lawyer to see if I have any legal recourse against them because of unlawful arrest and detainment. Because AFAIK I didn't actually break any laws.

      Stupid move on your end. Power is everything. And you were on the wrong side of the scales.

      One of my favourite sayings: "Might does not make right, but it does make the rules." Helps avoid such situations.

      Or in other words: unless you have the power to force your will on others, you have no choice but to endure everything thrown at you; oppression, force, insults, whatever. Rights, freedoms and all that are an illusion. Those with more power will always control those who cannot fight against them.

      And no matter how disgusted someone might be by such actions (like Coffeeboonen up there), it won't change anything. Appealing to rights and the legal system is weak. Either be wise enough to do what you are commanded by those who hold utter sway over you or work towards gaining enough power to hold sway over them. Complaining has never gotten anyone anywhere.

      Oh, and I don't mean this in any offensive way either. Just stating it bluntly, heh.

      Say, I run into a group of 5 thugs in the street who throw insults at me or whatnot.
      I'll obviously pass it by silently. That's the wiser choice.
      But if it were only one, I'd beat him into the ground.

      It's all about odds. If you can't win, don't fight (be it physically or verbally). It isn't worth it.

      In Brazil we have some corrupt officers, not just a full police force made of power abusers.

      I have a cousin who was robbed by a cop in Mexico. In Costa Rica, the cops laugh at you if you report a robbery. We have a significant percentage of corrupt cops, but they really are less of a joke than they are in most of the world.
