Well for me its not because i'm really tired, i'll be slightly tired but when it gets to 12:30 i just think, right, i better go to bed, if i go to bed at 11 i find that i have to force myself and always fail to fall asleep and in most cases i can't get to sleep and end up doing an all nighter, i don't get it.

I work at a warehouse doing nothing but labor, so it's kinda easy to go to sleep. Normally I'll get on these forums for a little bit and read about some technique and lay in bed on my left side, and take about two deep breaths and lie there while telling myself I'm going to have a lucid dream.

It varies, I've always been experimenting with ways to fall asleep. I just bought an eye cover that you stick in the freezer last night, and I slept so hard with that thing that I missed my 2AM alarm (Im a really light sleeper too).

But if I have trouble sleeping I take 6-10 deep breaths and focus on the out. That typically does the trick.

In high school I had a lot of trouble falling asleep because I wasn't particularly active, but these days I have so much going on that laying down on the bed is like an "ahhhhhhhh" relief from all those aches and pains. :p The key is to tire yourself out during the day.

I can't sleep without taking something a few hours beforehand. I know it's horrible, but when I try to sleep without, I lay awake for hours and feel like death the next day. It's worse when I have to get up early.

I stay up until 2:30 am then hit the sack and sleep like the dead until 7:30 am.

So far, I've stuck to that schedule for over a year now, I do believe.
But perhaps the lack of sleep is what accounts for some of my eccentricities.
      (did I spell that right?)

I don't know how you can do that even though you probably get more sleep than I do. I tend to wake up several times a night and can only fall asleep right away half the time whether or not I took any sleep aids.

I was the same. I'd go to bed and would toss and turn continually all night. I messed with my sleep schedule, started out trying to sleep the required 8 hours, then cut it down to 7, then to 6, then to 5 and at that time I fell straight asleep when I went to bed and woke up feeling totally refreshed. So I've stuck to it. I like it, though I suspect there are some negative physical glitches that come along with it. A trip to the doc soon will figure those out though.
