Sleep Moaning When Provoked

According to some of my friends during a camping trip: I went to bed early from a Kareoke night at the camp, and fell asleep shortly after that. Now, according to A, there was a cracker-eating contest going on that she wanted me to participate in. She poked someone else who was sleeping next to me, who made no nosie and flipped over. She poked, then shook me. I apparently sat up, looked at her with my eyes closed, and moaned, "Gaaaah gaaah gaaah gaah"- a long string of moans that made me sound like a zombie. Later in the night, she came and pushed my knapsack so that it touched my head. As soon as she did that, I apparently sat up and moaned some more. She quickly puleld my bag back to where it was, and I lay back down. Also, a B came and knocked o the tent door. Apparently, she heard a moan (that probably came from me) from within. Now, I have never been a sleep talker or a sleep walker, so I am wondering what was going on. I vaguely remember sitting up at one point (before everyone had gone to sleep, so perhaps when A came in and tried to wake me) Any input / comments / explanations / hypotheses? Thanks!

I always wonder if when I talk (especially when I'm yelling to somehow wake myself up - don't ask...) if people can hear me say something like "mom, wake me up" (haha!) But maybe you were trying to say something, but 'sleep paralysis' kept u from 'acting it out'... it's very possible

That sounds like me in the morning! Seriously, I do tend to "moan" when I'm sleeping lightly and someone tries to talk to me (sometimes I forget it). Nothing weird here. (I wonder if this is the origin of the "compromising noises" a roommate said I was doing when I sleep)
