      Heart problems

An interesting thing happend to me on friday. I was sitting in my religion class wacthing a movie(million doller baby) and all of the sudden my heart starts to hurt really bad. I was clinching at my chest with my fingers and everytime i breathed in it hurt really bad. Now this lasted for about 10 minutes and i was in obvious discomtfort and the people around me wanted to get help for me but i was like no, don't worry about it. Now im fairly athletic, i play multiple sports and such and i keep my self in realitivly good shape so im not sure what the cause of this maybe. Well after the school day was done i went home and told my mom to see if she knew anything. Well it turns out that i had a heart murmur when i was a youngin. So im like k sweet wtf do i do about it. my mom said if it happens again i will go see a doctor and do all that jazz. But i find it strange that this happend right after i have been trying to ld and i would get my self into REM sleep and i find my heart beating really fast and i couldn't stablize it. Do you think there is any corrolation between my heart probalems and REM while my heart is paceing at a ludacris speed?

      Hehehe.

*cough* In all seriousness though, perfectly healthy people can have heart troubles too. I doubt that your experiences with LDing actually cause this or anything, but if your heart is a bit weak to begin with, then you're going to be much more aware of your heart rate if it speeds up from anything.. LDing, running, watching a scary movie, whatever.

That actually explains alot of things. Like u said running, i went running perrty much everyday durign the summer and my heart rate was rediculosly fast just for me doing a light jog. Thanks for that tid-bit of info.

      Causes of chest pain

Asthma, which is generally accompanied by shortness of breath, wheezing, or cough.
Pneumonia, a blood clot to the lung (pulmonary embolism), the collapse of a small area of a lung (pneumothorax), or inflammation of the lining around the lung (pleurisy). In these cases, the chest pain often worsens when you take a deep breath or cough and usually feels sharp.
Strain or inflammation of the muscles and tendons between the ribs.
      Anxiety and rapid breathing.
Chest pain can also be related to problems with your digestive system. These include stomach ulcer, gallbladder disease, gallstones, indigestion, heartburn, or gastroesophageal reflux (when acid from your stomach backs up into your esophagus).

I think it has no relation to your lding. Mainly because most of the time you imagine your heart is going faster than it is, commonly it happens between sleep states. But it's all in the mind. I would eliminate lding or sleep as the cause.

Remember 1 thing, unless anyone here has a PHD in this stuff you're best advice will be with people who do have them PHD's, like doctors. Anyone who says your fine or don't see a doc or w/e ignore them. Chances are, they either are screwing with you or don't know them selves but sounds like nothing to them.

I had this exact problem before, only slightly worse, because the pain in my heart wouldn't go away until I took a deep and sharp breathe, which caused tremendous pain, like my entire left side felt like it was exploding, like a vein was popping. I told my mother about it, and she said she experiences the same thing every now and then. It happened to me three nights in a row a few months ago, but hasn't happened since.

You might want to ask your mom if your family has a history of heart problems. if she said yes i would proballt go see a doctor right away
