      Where do your eyes focus?

Does anyone know where your eyes naturally focus when you close them (and while you sleep too)? Do they focus on the eyelids, infinity, the last distance you were looking at when you closed them?

I'm curious because I find that I sometimes have trouble closing my eyes or keeping them closed. It feels like I'm really straining them.

I can change the focus of my eyes when they are closed (as far as i know).

I can make them look at my eyelids (which hurts) or stare into nowhere, but normally i have to have them closed for a good while before i can take the focus off my eyelids.

      Center of my eyebrows.

Feels like i'm closing a second set of eyelids if i don't move them consciously there.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

For me I always have imagined visions when I close my eyes, if I try to focus on something it will usually fade and become something else at a different distance forcing me to adjust my focus. If I concentrate on "seeing" the images I usually strain my eyes quite a bit. Tis kinda weird. But if I focus I can play a game with myself where I watch objects change and evolve into different images.

I really know what you mean. and it's really making it hard to stay calm.

As far as I know your eyes should go to a relaxed state when shut - ordinarily you will be focusing on something when they are open, albeit near or far objects. With your eyes shut, you can relax them.

A simple test is to put your finger about 20cm in front of you, then concentrate on it, then let your eyes relax, your finger should then blur/double and your eyes naturally focus on what is at their normal relaxation point, if that makes sense? Normally everything should be blurry, like when you day dream and don't specifically look at anything.

So there may be some constant focal length that your eyes are initially set to? Can it been measured?

I kinda just stare straight ahead into my eyelids and i see closed-visual snow visuals and then i slowly feel im sinking and i just fall asleep
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.
