Why isn't melatonin working for me

Sometimes i take two pills but it doesn't make me feel drowsy, I just want to be able to sleep any time i want. And could somebody please tell me what foods have melatonin in them?

      Are you taking 3mg?

I was told that 3mg can actually have a reverse effect. I was taking 3mg but I don't anymore because they weren't working.

You should try 0.5mg or 1mg.

The foods with the greatest amount of melatonin in them are oats, sweet corn and rice. There is also quite a good amount (although at least half as much) of melatonin in ginger, tomatoes, bananas and barley.

Here's a quick read if you want: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/nut.../melatonin.php

Another thing would be- are you going straight to bed after taking them? Or are you just waiting to get drowsy? Because you don't feel the affects, it's an instant reaction. You need to be relaxed and in a quiet place once you take them. Remember- it's natural. You're not going to just pass out no matter what.

Help the sleep along- do what you'd normally do. Soft music, dark room, etc.
When I close my eyes it looks like this...
