I did the everyman schedule for 6 months, it was great. Your post shows a huge lack of understanding about polyphasic sleep, you need to do a lot of research before diving into it. You end up getting from 2-5 hours of sleep per 24-hour period, not 8. Uberman schedule is taking a 20-minute nap once every 4 hours, and is very rigid. I hear that it is easy to maintain once you adjust to it, but the biggest challenge is the social repercussions. The world doesn't stop for 20 minutes every 4 hours, and you NEED to take those naps, so it's an interesting problem. The everyman schedule has a longer sleep period (I did 3 hours) at night, and then has naps spaced further apart during the day. This gives it some more flexibility.
I'd definitely recommend doing some research and giving it a try.
