Using Dream Info To Heal Oneself

      Good Morning,

I know most of what is posted here is about dreaming itself as it relates to health. However, I am personally more interested in using the information and help available in our dreams to help ourselves, and possibly others around us, to heal and prevent health problems. Is anyone else interested in that?

I know, for example, that my guides are suggesting I eat more fish now, because I dreamed a really big can of tuna next to my usual little can. I think they mean to eat it more frequently though, not in larger quantities at one meal. I have to assume my stomach lining, which used to have a bleeding ulcer, can now handle the acid needed to digest the fish.

I've had all kinds of dreams over the past ten or so years that have helped me heal from numerous things, and wonder if others here see that in their dreams as well?

IrisRavenstar, I've had a couple of lucid dreams where I healed myself:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=60064

And one where I healed the animals in the dream:

Wow, those are all really cool dreams! Thank you for sharing them, Clairity. I know my guides/angels sometimes send me Reiki when I fall exhausted into bed, too tired to do it myself, because I fall asleep watching the same light/energy pattern that I get when I do self-Reiki, a sort of pulsing purple and gold sunflower. I can't recall actually doing or receiving a healing while actually in a dream, though I get all kinds of advice on HOW to heal things, for myself and my pets, in dreams.

Also, a couple of times, I have twisted an ankle, once while hiking and while I was three to four miles from the parking lot, my Siberian Husky, Shaman, pulled me down on rocks on the beach and knocked the wind out of me, and I couldn't stand up, and I heard my inner guide tell me to do Reiki, now, before trying to stand again. I sat there for about fifteen or twenty minutes and just Reikied the ankle, and was able to get up and walk the three or more miles back to the car and drive home. The next day, it was only slightly stiff, and I did Reiki again, and the pain was gone the day after that. And I know from the pain when I first tried to stand that it was sprained or badly twisted. Another time, I did much the same thing falling off a rock garden on a steep slope next to my driveway and onto the pavement, and again, the instruction to do Reiki before standing. It works! It sounds as if you were doing much the same thing in your dream.

The one of healing the animals is so sweet! Do you really have any draw towards working with animal healing during your awake time? I have known of people who do that kind of work.

I have a couple of DVDs on Reiki healing but have never seriously tried doing it. I need to go blow the dust off them and give them another shot!

I have always had dogs and can't stand to see them in pain because they can't TELL you what hurts or how to make it better (that just kills me).

I would love to be a healer of animals.. now all I can do is just run to the vet!

I went for a Reiki I attunement, and read Diane Stein's book _The Essential Reiki_, which is my favorite book, better than the one I was given with the attunement. It was well worth it, as I do it almost daily, especially in bed before I go to sleep. I'm surprised they have CD's though, as most Reiki practitioners believe in a hands-on attunement. Or at least a distance attunement for some who do it on the internet.

Well, if you and the pet both are open psychically, they *can* communicate with you. I have found it happens best when it's something I can actually fix though. Like when Shaman had a fungus infection, I dreamed that I saw all this black shadowy stuff on his groin area (he'd just been neutered at the time), and saw myself washing it with a pink washcloth, and then heard the word "fungus." I checked him, no black stuff, but knowing my dreams, figured it was coming, so read my herbal healing book, and found Tea Tree Oil is antifungal, went to the health food store, and bought tea tree oil soap, figuring that was good on a washcloth, and also a bottle of tea tree essential oil to swab on after washing. The next day, the black stuff arrived, and I was armed, and it cleared up within 24 hours without a more expensive visit to the vet. I'd also either get visions or just know when he had a tick, and exactly where it was, despite all that thick husky fur.

When he got really sick with esophageal cancer, I had a different kind of dream, one that I only recognized in hindsight, in which I was putting him in the car in the parking lot at my vets office, and thought he had been bitten badly by another dog, as his stomach was ripped open. I thought I had to take him to another vet, which seemed odd, since we had just come out of the vet's office, and I was worried about being able to find it.

Some months (six or seven, I think) after this dream, Shaman got really sick, and first the vet discovered this horrible hard black ball in his stomach, and surgically removed it, and I realized this connected back to my dream at that point. He did not get better after the surgery, but in fact kept getting worse, and our vet sent us to a specialist veterinarian in R.I. where they diagnosed the esophageal cancer, which was awful! I had to have him put down. I couldn't have him suffering anymore. But, well, I know from another series of dreams, posted here somewhere, that he was reincarnated as Lily, my Pomeranian, and came back to me, same spirit, new body, much smaller!

I'm very psychically connected to her as well. Many healers who work with animals are also able to read them psychically. It's something that might open up for you if you're interested in doing that!

I'm so sorry about Shaman but I know you did everything you could for him and that's why he came back to you as Lily! ..

Wow! Clarity and IrisRavenstar, your experiences are inspiring! I have had a number of strange health issues, such as bad knees, tendonitis and reocurring headaches/migraines . (What stinks about this is that I'm only 18, and have had these problems for YEARS) Although I've been able to keep both under control to a degree (the tendonitis through mild stretches and regular walks, and the headaches/migraines through keeping my back aligned by seeing a chiropractor) they can be bothersome and really painful. Every winter I seem to experience some sort of problem with my knees or my tendonitis, and this keeps me from being as acitve as I would like to be in the winter (I LOVE to snowshoe). Early last spring I literally could not get around without use of a cane, and this is when the mountains out here (I live in the west) were just starting to become "hikeable" again. Conventional medicine could not figure out many of my problems for a long time and my family spent a mint seeing specialists, and in the meantime, I wasn't able to do the things I regularly would. I really hate to take pain meds, and doctors are NOT my favorite people, so if there was a way to heal myself, even to a degree, that would be great! Can this method (Reiki, etc.) be used as a "preventative maintenance" tool?

Waking Nomad, I'm sorry! Have you seen someone to see if there is any damage sustained from the whiplash? (One of the times I'd actually recommend someone see a doctor; they've saved the lives of several people in my family before). A guy in my neighborhood was in a car accident a few years back, and he had, as he said, only a minor case of whiplash, but he had actually sustained some sort of nasty neck injury that stayed around for a few months until he saw a doctor. Whatever the case, I'd be happy to send some positive vibes

I went to the emergency room, actually, and I am going to my primary care physician today. The nurse told me it would hurt worse today, but, I feel so much better! I think you guys really helped. Thank you friends!

Raven Knight and I have both done healing in dreams. She did healing on my neck in a lucid dream. I don't know why I forgot to mention that.
