So I have an Xbox 360, and I've wanted to get live for a while now... I got the wireless adaptor and bought a wireless router. However, my computer is so old that it doesn't have an ethernet port in it (My internet is converted to USB for some reason). So I couldn't connect my router to the computer to set it up. I tried my luck and just plugged the router into the phone line and turned on my 'box. The 'box detected the router, and I tested the live connection, but it failed the DNS test. One of my computer geek friends came round with a network card which we tried in the computer so I could change the settings on my router, but my video card was constantly coming loose, and the computer just refused to boot, so we stopped trying 'cause we were worried we'd seriously mess the insides up, it's incredibly old and fragile. So at the moment, I'm gonna have to wait till next weekend when my friend will bring his computer over and set up the router with it. But that means I gotta wait a WHOLE WEEK until I get connected to live, which is REALLY ANNOYING.

I know it's unlikely, but I was just wondering if there's some other way not involving my computer to set up the router so I can pass the DNS test. Any ideas?

P.S. I'm not too adept at computers, so it would be nice if you try to dumb things down...
