      Red face

      Hey,
I have a 4mb fast cable connection (not much) but when I tryed to use it today, I noticed that the sites would only load if I moved my mouse (yes, it is true), including dreamviews, I have to constantly move my mouse to make it load and write this stuff. I used Knoppix (Linux) and it didn't solve the problem so it is not software (I use Windows XP).

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my PC?
Thanks! (here we go, rotating the mouse so that I can post it lol)

      ok, serious this time
do you have a wireless keyboard / mouse combo?

failing that, is there anything else "odd" about your mouse?

No, and it's just a normal optic mouse (Leadership). My AMD XP 2400+ processor has begun to, sometimes, not be detected by the system, so I have to re-set it's frequency. Maybe it has something to to with this?

      Thanks!

IE6, IE7, Firefox, AOL, Netscape...? Which are you using, and have you tried a different one?

You said that this happens on both Linux and XP? The mouse and network card operate invisible to each other and a problem with one shouldn't affect the other. What does the BIOS say about the mouse and network?

Are you sure that it's actually not loading? The mouse movement might just refresh the screen while the network downloads the whole time. That would be a software fix. Do you have Wine? It's unlikely but you may have accidentally gotten the same virus on Windows and Linux, especially if you run them in parallel.

I use Firefox, but I tryed my Knoppix version of Firefox and my IE7, still with the problem. I'm 100% sure it is really only loading when I use my mouse. I checked every information about the internet with and without moving my mouse and it is really visible. I can't get any other information about my mouse from windows. I just "pinged" www.google.com with the Command Prompt and it just woundn't connect, and when I moved my mouse, it was instantly 120ms.

      Please help

You should check your Device Mgr and check the mouse's rescources make sure things are normal here. Why are you running Knoppix Parrell to windows? You don't Rawk a Live Distro? That's how I kick it all day every day. especially with S.T.D. If you are pinging google which really is useless because you're getting Dns resolution why don't you Run that Funky Traceroute and check the latency of packets hitting their final destination usually after ripping through that backbone.

Oh by the way I fix computer to make an extra buck!
