      Installing Font in Windows Vista

      ok I've about had it!!

      I've been trying to download and install a font for the last hour and it's not working. I've downloaded/installed many fonts when I had XP before so I do know what I'm doing.

      Now I download the font in a zip file, extract it to the Font folder, and nothing happens. I've tried extracting it within my Downloads folder and moving it manually to the Font folder, and I've tried downloading it directly to the Font folder, and nothing is working!!

      Does anyone know if their is a compatibility issue with downloading and installing fonts with Windows Vista?

      never really used vista in anger,
      so just guessing

      but I think there's serious restrictions on what you can do in a system folder (ie. /winnt/fonts)

      is there some sort of automated font installing program within windows?

      *edit*
      quick google revealed how
      Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Fonts
      navigate to where the font is, and click install

      When I go to the Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Install/Remove Font, is just takes me back to Windows Explorer and there is no Install button to click

      WTF I don't get it!!

      ok, try right clicking in the fonts folder
      is there an option to install new fonts?
