      The new Apple iPhone.

Okay, so my next phone I get will be the Apple iPhone. It is not out here in the UK yet, and as far as I know I think I will have to wait till the end of the year for it to come out?

What I want to know, as I cant find this information online it; can I use my existing Vodafone contract sim card in the iPhone? Does anyone know a price, or an exact date for UK release?

If anyone has any more info on them I would like to know, really want to get one. Any experiences, good or bad?

      Cheers

As far as I know, the network handling the iPhone over here isn't confirmed yet. There's only one network doing it in the US, so I assume it'll be the same story here. Also no release date as of yet, though Christmas is likely.

I'd get an iPhone, but for various reasons I'm going to skip this generation. First problem is it lags behind a little in current EU phone technology (no 3G, poorly implemented camera, music you put on it can't be used as ringtones etc). What it does do however, is apparently on the whole, better than what's ben done before it. My plan is to get a phone on say, an 18 month contract, then upgrade to an iPhone when they're worth it.

Why 18 month? I would never get one for that long!

Yeah I heard o2 are getting the contract for it, which will be a shame as I would like to stick with Vodafone!

18 month because they tend to come with the phones for free. Free things are good.

      www.tuaw.com <- keep looking there
I believe that Apple did just contract three hosts for European service.

While the iPhone has very nice-looking UI, I think it's way overhyped. Plus I hear the screen gets really smudgy really quickly. It's nothing new, when you think about it. Phones have been going on the internet for a few years now. I think Apple's true brilliance is in the marketing department.
