Recording from the Radio via PC.

Okay, I am playing something in Window's Media Player, and I want to report a section of it, I am using a program called Goldwave and normally I can do this, but I cannot for some reason. Can someone tell me how I can do this?

      Thanks

I think I did the same thing your trying to do some years back. But let me get this straight, you want to record of the radio, using you pc, am I correct.

If I am, this is what you do. On the control volume, you have to choose recording options, and mute all the other ones exept "line in" or "aux in". from this you need a cable to connect the radio (from the headphone jack is fine) to the in line or auxiliar in to the pc, (just take a look at the back of you CPU, to check what you got.) Turn on the radio and see if you hear sound coming from your pc speakers. If you do your in business, now try to open your soundwave program and try to record what you hear from your computer speakers. If you did everything right then you should be able to play back your recording and save it. and so on.

Well I hope that helps, if this wasn't the case then oh well. Hope you find the solution.

If that wasn't the case and you wanted to record of something you already got on you computer with WMP. Then you just choose "wave out mix" on your recording options, and mute the rest, and that should let you record what you hear coming out of your speakers. Hope this one helps now.

most modern soundcards enable you to record from the speaker output
      it's normally called "stereo mix"

Mute everything expect Stereo Mix and the master recording volume
then you should be able to just record the sound directly from your soundcard

this is what most people mean when they talk about the analogue hole.
