HDTV issues - TV savvy ? Read!I have a relatively new Samsung LE26R7(1B) and well, at random times

      Sup, minions.

I have a relatively new Samsung LE26R7(1B) and well, at random times strange things occur; The sound refuses to work. I check for mute, volume on 0, wires not properly plugged in, etc etc but that all doesn't seem to be the problem. I just have to turn it off and on a couple of times - sometimes once, sometimes over ten times - and it works, but sometimes it just doesn't work at all anymore, even when "rebooting" it over ten times. I just.. sleep over it, and the next morning it works. Almost like it overheated.

I check for warmth, but that's definitely not it. It does that when I haven't used it for ~24 hours as well. As I said, it's completely random. It might or might not happen, though it usually does and requires 2-ish reboots.

Also, I check it's not just the sattelite-device (ie, sattelite TV receiver) by seeing if my Xbox 360 does work, and vice versa.

Anyone know what's up? I'd really like this fixed.

Yeah, our first HDTV was rubbish as well. It would refuse to turn on one day, so we sent it to someone to try and fix it. They failed. We got sent a newer (current) model and it worked.

I sometimes have a similar problem when playing my PS3. The screen simply goes black for a few seconds, reassuringly a blue box with the words, "Please wait" comes up.

Have you checked the leads at the back for signs of overheating? Should the one concerning sound transmission overheat then I expect it would cause the problem you have.

[EDIT] Sup minions? The only minion you have is Twiggy and he's currently AWOL.

I'm pretty sure it's not overheating, because it does it when I've had it turned off for over ~24 hours as well (I said that in my first post, asshat).

Also, don't deny you're my minion goldney, because deep down you know it's true.

Have you tried changing the cables? I have a hunch that says it's the cables.

When I dream, theres always a
little girl playing in the dirt, that
turns to me and says "Why are
you here? .... Are you blind like
      me?"

      What I've found
      What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
      Never be
      Never free
I wish to see what might have been...
...So I talk to you unbeliever.
