      No backgorund or colors????

For an example, below ▼ this being one of my drop down boxes, has NO background. This along with all my others. No colors to choose from and all the drop down boxes are impossible to read because there is text in front of them.
It seems like an easy fix>?
Me and some others have tried seemingly EVERYTHING.
      What am I missing?
      Any ideas?

      Operating System?

Could be a failing graphics card, or it's driver. Perhaps the default .nib objects got corrupted?

      Cut me some slack dudes.
I am rushing, had I put some thought into what I was saying, I would have realized what you had asked. not to say I know what I am talking about.

Hence the reason I ask you guys.

      Windows XP
      Thanks Adam!

It's been a long time since I've used Windows, but I believe for XP those objects are in the System32 folder? Within it there is some sort of package with all of the standard windows objects: scrollbars, buttons, and the choice menus.

Here is a way to see if just one of those sets it messed up or not. Go into the Control Panel and click on Display. Click on the Theme tab. Try any other theme and see if it works there. Now switch it back, did that fix the problem? If not then you are going to have to ask someone with Windows to post that package on a server so that you can replace the corrupt one.

I don't have a clue what the package is called, or even if I have the folder name right, but try the Control Panel fix first.

      Ninja9578 and others,
Thanks a lot for this help you have provided.

I have tried the theme thing already.
I reset my PC back to before I thought the corruption may have occurred.
I will give the Theme a try again.

Keep you updated, and thanks again!

My colors work with applications other than the internet.
Microsoft word & works, notepad, paint, etc.

Switch to FireFox, or update Internet Exploder to 7.0, if you haven't already.

Sorry. I am pretty inept at describing my problem.
      I have Firefox.
I also update it and have the latest version.

      can you post a screenshot,
cause this is like doing blind surgery

next time it happens, just hit the print screen button on your keyboard, and paste into paint
