      OpenGL apps are screwing up.

I use many OpenGL apps - Google Earth, Celestia, Duke Nukem 3D etc.

So when I was using Google Earth one day (don't know what happened before this, the problem was out-of-the-blue), every time I change the view, zoom in or whatever, a 1-inch square around my mouse pointer would not change the image. If I moved the pointer away from that spot and move the view again, its gone, but there's a square around where the pointer now is.

I switched it to DirectX and it works fine.

Same problem in all windowed OpenGL apps... I have an Intel 915G adapter and I'm running Windows XP. Drivers are latest, but updated ages ago (so a driver uupdate could not have caused the problem).

      Any ideas?

can you post more info on your current drivers
did the drivers come from intel, or microsoft?

MS tend to gimp OpenGL on their own drivers

Drivers that come with Windows or that are downloaded from Windows Update typically do not support OpenGL. For optimal performance of OpenGL applications, install the latest graphics drivers from Intel

Intel, via Dell's website (Intel's own installer says something about needing to go through the PC manufacturer). Version 6.14.10.4543.

well, your drivers aren't quite the latest
intel has version 6.14.10.4764 up on it's site

you may want to re-grab your current drivers from Dell as well, in case you want to revert back to them

The Intel installer does not let you get past the first few screens - as I said, it forces you to go through the PC manufacturer. Just so happens Dell is lazy and mine is the latest version you can download from them.
