      P2P Program?

      A'hoy hoy,

So I am trying to find a p2p program to download music. Of course, I am in Canada so I do not have to worry about having to pay for it and I assume many others do the same even in the States..?

What is a good p2p program to download music from? For free, of course.

Ynot mentioned uTorrent which is good but it may be a little difficult to figure out if you're new.

I recommend Azureus Vuze, it's very simple

µTorrent FTW, but yeah, it may be kinda difficult to use if you are not experienced with P2P software.

Thanks guys, I will give it a try.

      Edit:

Where the hell can I find some bitTorrents now? I am trying to find the song "Seduction" by Final Force right now and I try other songs and find nothing. Any suggestions?

Scrap the suggestions of the first poster

      Best P2P = Ares

      Best Gnutella = Limewire

      Best Torrents = www.torrentz.com

Yay, someone other than me uses Ares! Seriously, for music that is one of the fastest/easiest/most reliable p2p sources.

I use uTorrent for torrents and Shareaza for gnutela

I really like shareaza.. simple and easy and good and round and sound and..

can't say much about uTorrent because it's the first one I use, so I dunno how good it is in comparison to others

-scratches head- I didn't know how to put it in my own words other than "It's effin awesome!" so I found this for you.

The Gnutella network is a fully distributed alternative to such semi-centralized systems as FastTrack (KaZaA) and such centralized systems as Napster. Initial popularity of the network was spurred on by Napster's threatened legal demise in early 2001. This growing surge in popularity revealed the limits of the initial protocol's scalability. In early 2001, variations on the protocol (first implemented in closed-source clients) allowed somewhat of an improvement in scalability. Instead of treating every user as client and server, some users were now treated as "ultrapeers", routing search requests and responses for users connected to them.

This allowed the network to grow in popularity. In late 2001, the Gnutella client LimeWire became open source. In February 2002, Morpheus, a commercial file-sharing group, abandoned its FastTrack-based peer-to-peer software and released a new client based on the open source Gnutella client Gnucleus.

For torrents, uTorrent is the lightest and fastest. It's not hard to figure out at all, you can be a beginner and just use it or you can know your stuff and tweak it. I also use Ares, that's a really good one, much better than LimeWire in my opinion.

The best public tracker (cleanest, fastest) is MiniNova.org. The one with the most selection (and most viruses/spyware) is ThePirateBay.org.

Demonoid is gone unfortunately. That was THE best tracker. I suggest you find a good private tracker -- i currently use AradiTracker.com. It's good and VERY fast, but the selection isn't that amazing. It's growing, though.

I'll support the single poster above that mentioned it: I use SoulSeek for music.
If I just want one song instead of an album and such, it's quite useful and a swift solution.
