Ahhh..Virus :(

Okay, I'm pretty sure my computer is infected with many viruses.

Probably because of all the things that I have downloaded from suspicious sites.

My PC is fairly new, I got it last September, it was great in the beginning, now it's pretty slow. Not that slow, but well...slow at times.

It's also not protected in any way whatsoever...(

) It's about time I get something to protect it and get rid of all the viruses.

Now what do you guys recommend? I'm hoping I can get something for free maybe?

AVG is good free anti-virus software.

Probably spyware and malware more than a virus. Try Ad-Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy. Both are free spyware removers.

Try the suggestions above. If you're still unable to get rid of the viruses, you can wipe your hard drive clean and then reinstall Windows. After that, be sure to install anti-virus and anti-spyware software like AVG and Spybot - Search & Destroy, respectively. If you have any important files on your hard drive that you haven't backed up, you can probably recover them with Knoppix. Or if your computer is still usable (it sounds like it is), just back up the files to CD/DVD/external hard drive/Internet/whatever before reinstalling Windows. If you lost the Windows install CD, you can install a free operating system like Ubuntu Linux. All the software is free, and you won't get viruses. Most Windows software has GNU/Linux equivalents, but some games don't. So if you're a big time gamer, hopefully you still have the Windows install CD.

I recommend you to reinstall the computer and then install some kind of good anti-virus software and update is as soon as you are finished installing it.
Do you know how to reinstall?

Okay, thanks a lot guys.

I'm currently running a scan with spybot.

Let's see the outcomes, if that doesn't work, I will try to reinstall. :/

When my computer was uber-infected with things, pretty much none of the above suggestions worked given the seriousness of the problem. Luckily, I had someone on hand to help me manually get rid of the viruses using... something.. I don't remember which program.. but anyway, he had to write code and stuff to get rid of them. If you can't do that, reinstalling the system is your best bet.
