      Do i have a virus?

on my computer when ever im typing some time randomly in the middle of of one of my words like lets say the word microwave The C is randomly Capitalised, i know computers automatically capitalise words at the begining of a sentence but it does this with a random letter in the middle of a word im typing.

And when im typing all of a sudden the Word up is insterted into my sentence.

like im just saying "hows your day" then the computer insters the word up "Hows up up your day" it just randomly inserts that word into what im typing randomly.

Don't you see? Leo Volont isn't a person! Just like the Borg isn't a person. Just like the Zerg isn't a person. Just like the Flood isn't a person. It all makes so much sense now...

Does it happen in all programs or just office? windows lacks a universal spell checker so if all programs are doing it then it may be a virus. If it's just one program or package then it's most likely just a faulty script.

Yeah, that sounds like a virus. There are a few free virus removers out there. I don't know what they're called. Windows users, help him out?

Wait right there! Norton is worse than 95% of the virii it supposedly "removes". It's a rootkit that will slow your computer down and you can never uninstall. I speak as a victim. Try Avast!, it's free and excellent.

viruses rarely show themselves via on-screen weirdness
(you only get the laughing skull & cross bones type things in films)

chances are the keys are sticking on your keyboard
(liquid spill / paperclip inside / etc.)
get hold of another keyboard and see if it still happens
but I'd bet £10 it's not any virus

Oh wow, that's dumb, I didn't even think about that.

      Yeah, don't install Norton.

If your windows key is randomly sticky, you might be hitting some random shortcut commands. One more vote for trying another keyboard.

      HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

This reminds me of my old desktop computer filled with viruses.

Once while browsing the net, there was a message saying "If your CD/DVD drives just opened up, you are being monitered by spyware or virus intalled in your computer!" In big red letters.

And my drives did open that instant without my approval!!!!!!!!!

      I was like WTF!!!!!

You should really have an Anti-Virus, Spyware, Firewall, and Malware/Rootkit/Keylogger scanners. The reason I put the last 3 seperate with Spyware is most programs Are either Spyware or M/R/K scanners seperately. There i no excuse for leaving computers unprotected.

If you are willing to spend a little money I really recommend Zone Alarm Firewall (It is the best firewall ive ever used, aswell as having built in scanning engines and intuitive scanning programs), and Bit Defender (preferrably Total Security 08). Its a Firewall, Virus Scanner, Backup/Tuneup program. And Ad-Aware SE, Spyware scanning. These programs are are extremely good at blocking (hackers for the Firewalls), live Virus detection and program scanning, aswell as spyware detection.

Now to address the post. This DOES sound like a virus. I know keyboard problems and it is usually a letter that is messed up and its always consistent. For instance on my computer with my old keyboard, occasionally for a week or 2 straight, eveytime i typed a "?", many "////////" would type instead. But words are never put in. If it wasn't a virus then something is reallly screwed up on the OS.

Looking for some free scanners right now whatever it is except I agree is norton. Don't donwload norton anti-virus. it is a system hog that will drive you fricken NUTS.

You should try to download the software below

      1: Ad-aware 7 - removes adware, http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-200...html?tag=lst-2

      2: Spy-bot removes spyware http://www.download.com/Spybot-Searc...html?tag=lst-1

3: AVG-antivirus - Antivirus software gets rid of viruses
      http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Vir...html?tag=lst-2

These should help you out, and are all free. I hope you can get rid of the virus in time, If you can't, you should consider taking it to a computer repair service.
