      Is this possible

I was wondering if it would be possible to install a new graphics card on a laptop, like an ATI or Nvadia graphics card, and how much it would cost,

No, its not common for laptops to have graphics cards upgraded like memory RAM or even sometimes a Hard drive. Now there are some out there, but the major common consumer laptops that are made for the public are not designed for a simple person to mess around with its delicate small machine parts.

Pretty much, your stuck with the graphical horsepower you got until you buy yourself a new laptop with a high performance graphics card already built in.

PS I'm in the same boat as you my friend.
