      MP3 rejects everything...

      My MP3 player hasnt been working for a while, whenever i try to send music files onto it an error screen appears saying, that the location is not available, the request could not be performed because of a I/O device error.

      i would be grateful for any help given,
      its been annoying me for ages

      oh no, this Mp3 player, i dont think can be re-set, its quite old.
      I'm not downloading from the internet, but trying to send music thats already saved onto my PC, to the mp3.

      Is it one of those nice ones where it's basically a USB drive? (I never understood why anyone would want to use some third party software just to copy files from one drive to another... and the software is usually barely functional)

      It might be that your drive is actually messed up. Try a generic USB key and see if it does the right thing.
