Thread: More Ipod Issues

Cool, I slightly remember that happening too.



While I'm at it, I might as well ask this question. The internet on my itouch is unclickable. It zooms in fine, but when I try to click it doesn't.

I'm going to do some research on that, but I might as well ask here too.

Ok, first up.

I don't know for sure but if the library has cleared itself then there maybe a backup of your library somewhere, this happened to me. However there is a chance there may not be a backup library. The library is a small file which basically tells iTunes where to find all the files and how to arrange them.

Okay, i think the file path is this. So follow this path on your computer.

My Documents/My Music/iTunes

In there you should find a file that says iTunes Music Library.xml

That should be your current library. Now, in the iTunes folder there may be a folder that is called "Previous iTunes Libraries". If there is not a folder then there is not much you can except import your library again. If there is a folder, click on it and go into it, then double click the latest backup library. Looking at mine there is only one backup library, but there may be more for you. Hopefully it will contain most of your music, but possibly not all of it depending on the backup. Just load it and it should load the backup. The file you click on should contain a date so just click on the latest, if there is only one file in the folder, just click it.

Okay, backing up your music.

If you want to get all your music back off your iPod, you will probably have to install some additional software. OR, when you get your new computer, open up Windows Media Player, click on the "Import" part of the program, if there is non there should be a similar option in which allows you to import the contents off of the device. Its a standard in Windows Media Player. Import everything, if you cannot do this, just send me a PM and i'll find an alternate way of doing it.

Another option is to burn your music onto a disc as a data disc. Basically, instead of burning the tracks direct and being able to listen to them, you are essentially creating a disc that acts like a backup for all your music. I don't know what programs you have but there are some free ones available that i'll recommend should you choose this option. But basically, create a ton of discs backing up all the music, then just put the discs in your new computer and copy over the files. Get yourself some DVDs since they will hold 4.7 gb of data per disc. Two discs should cover the size that your iPod can hold. Once again, if you contact me i will help you through it.

Okay, as for your iPod Touches internet, i know exactly what you mean, but i think that instead of assuming its a problem straight a way, try changing the way you touch the iPod. When moving across the page just touch at a normally and drag. When zooming in you usually need to do a quick double tab. When clicking or touching, do a hard and pressured tap, it should be noticable when you have clicked something, but just try and be precise and put sufficient pressure on, don't go overboard, but try and do it fast. Even using your finger nail is a good thing to use when tapping parts of the webpage.

Now as for the internet, I've tried everything. I was on it a few nights ago, and it was working normally, then simply out of nowhere the things would just not click. I can move up and down the page, and zoom in out, but that's it. I don;t understand what happen. Maybe I somehow locked the things? Or something..
