      3g mobile broadband wirelessdevice/modem help?

The usb wireless broadband modem doesn't seem to be being recognized on the laptop i want to use it on.

It works on this computer, which is XP os, and I think it might be vista that's the problem; that or security or whatever.

I've tried everything i can think of, but i keep getting the same error message from the 3g exe when i run it.

"Wireless network device not detected; or unavailable"

After contacting 3g they said it must be the computer or os' settings that's causing the problems because they have thousands of vista users.

The actual usb modem is recognizing there is a network to connect to whilst on the laptop, though the notebook nor program will recognise it.

I contacted hp support (yet to get back to me after 24 hrs...) but all i got was a barely comprehensible indian receptionist.
Any thoughts guys? some random default setting needing change on vista?

Right click > Run as Administrator.

A lot of my programs can't find devices until I do that.

      Eat that HP support ;..;!

Anyway, turned out to be that my inbound tcp was blocked.
