Will someone help me compile this and why doesn't this work on wine?

The head tracking software at the bottom of this page: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/

The link for it is here:

      http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projec...iDesktopVR.zip

      I need help compiling that...

and also, why doesn't his wiimote whiteboard software work on ubuntu wine? It doesn't even open up or make any reaction when I try to open it (with wine).

      It's here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projec...teboardv02.zip

this was developed for windows, using .NET & directX
good luck trying to run it on *nix
It's going to be very painful

a quick look around shows he's palmed off the linux & mac ports to someone else
Mac/Linux Versions: Due to personal time contraints, I've had to hand off Mac and linux development to other members of the Source Forge Project - Wiimote Whiteboard. Check there if a release has been made.
an alpha version of that linux whiteboard thing is here

Actually, I've gotten the whiteboard working very well on linux... the problem I had was getting the head tracking working, which is different.

I don't believe WINE has any .NET support as of yet. Nor will you be able to compile windows-specific stuff like that under linux.

Your best bet: Install virtualbox and create a windows install (if you don't have access to a local windows host somehow).

I stand corrected - looks like they DO have .NET, but it's definitely in its infancy
