So I'm selling my PC, and getting a laptop. I have a lot of pictures and videos stored on this PC, and am wondering what's the easiest and most reliable way of storing them so I can transfer them all to my laptop. (Or at least transfer most of them) |

your best bet is probably an external hard disk |

That's probably the best way but considering how much I'm paying for this laptop. |

Hey reinstall the system on your old laptop before you sell it if you want all your stuff gone. At least, that's what I've done multiple times - and not because I wanted to.. but the "stuff gone" part was a pleasant side-effect. |

To securely erase the hard drive, people say that the free Darik's Boot and Nuke is good. |

An external hard drive is definitely your best bet. You can get a fairly large one for $80 at Costco. They're incredibly useful for backups, too, so you won't be paying $80 just to transfer your stuff. |
