It's pretty, and probably killer for the web and some of the new games and apps, but it's still too puny to replace my ipod and lacking two of my favorite apps: media messaging(wtf?!) and video recording. I just don't see the point of putting music on my phone if I would have to carry my iPod anyway. |

Urm yeah, so I got the iPhone....
Damn, after 3 weeks of searching and having no luck getting a 16gb iPhone, I decided to give up, that was until Wednesday when I checked the Carphone Warehouse website, and they say that if I ordered I could get one Friday (today). So I placed my order, then I got an email saying my order couldn't be processed due to no stock being available!!!
So yesterday I was away on business and had a spare hour so decided to pop into the local o2 store to see if they had any, as I walked in I was immidiately greeted with "Are you here for an iPhone?" As I answered I was put into a queue and waited. I managed to get one; although only an 8gb but still I had the phone I wanted.
Then today I got a call to say my 16gb I originally ordered is in fact on its way to my house!!! So I now have 2 iPhones!!!!
But.................
Get this, I called o2 to say I needed to return one because I didn't need it, and they said I could only do this at the store I bought it from, some 300 miles away!!! This is a joke, surely that is not right? Surely I don't have to drive 300 miles to return the damn thing! It's like o2 cannot get enough to sell, yet I offer one back and they don't want to take it. So tomorrow I have the task of walking around all the o2 stores and finding some monkey who doesn't know what he is talking about to take it back from me lol.
Pfft!
p.s anyone else got the new one?

I have the SE w960i with 8gb which will be going on eBay.
I don't know if I will miss the media messaging, I never really used it so don't think I will now - and video recording, I think I will miss that.
But as for not having to carry a phone and MP3 player with me, it works, that and it look good lol

The value of the iPod for me is that I can take ALL my music with me(I know, probably not possible for a DJ), and 75% of the time it's on shuffle. If anything I could see throwing my podcasts and maybe a couple movies on the iPhone to supplement my iPod. I'm not saying it doesn't make me drool, just when I look at it rationally I manage to roll my tongue back in.
