Most phones should be able to play an MP3 as a ringtone. I think the razor would be fine.

I've had experience with RAZR V3m phones and they've worked wonderfully. If you're looking to upload music on your phone, usually you can use the .mp3 format without a problem. I don't know what the LG software is like, but Motorola has a program called "Motorola Phone Tools" that you can use to manage your address book, calendar, pictures, music, etc. Version 4.0 (relatively recent) is available for about $10. http://www.sfplanet.com/product/SKN6...term=SKN6371CD

The RAZR should also have a slot for a memory card if you're looking to put more music on there than it's internal memory is designed to hold. But I'd ask a sales representative to see whether or not the software with the phone will allow you to transfer music files or whether or not the feature is disabled. If they don't know, ask them to get in touch with someone who does know. Any customer service-minded person would do this for you.

I have a Samsung U740 (now released as the Alias I believe) which is verizon. The thing with verizon is that they try to make you buy their ringtones instead of being able to use your own. What you can do is make an mp3 that you want for your ringtone and then you simply email that file to your phone (for verizon its (your 10 digit cellphone number)@vzwpix.com . The problem with this is that verizon used to change your mp3 to a crappy format so it would be quiet and sound bad on your phone. As of a few weeks ago I tried again and everything I sent went through as mp3s and sound great as ringtones. Using this method the ringtones come into your phone as picture messages so you will need texting or be willing to pay the price per text. My phone allows for a personal ringtone to be set for each contact, and I would imagine most phones do (my brother has a cheaper version of the KRZR and his can do it I think).

Also if you are having trouble making an mp3 of the part of the song you want you can download the program Audacity which is a great free audio editing program you can find online if you google it.

Those phones you are looking at are verizon right?

My bad, I just completely missed the point of the question I'll leave now
