      D-link Help

Ok, so I'm having a problem with my wireless connection. Even on my computer, it randomly loses its connection for like 2-3 seconds at a time. So when I try to load pages, every like tenth page or so comes up with a loading error and I have to reload it. This wouldn't be a problem, but it also happens with any online games that I play, and I just get a message saying I've lost my connection and I get disconnected from the server. It was never this bad before, but now all the time on games like CSS or Zombie Panic! Source, I get random disconnects all the time. In order to play normally, I have to disconnect my router and connect straight to my modem, which is a pain in the ass to do everyday.

My modem is a D-link WBR-2310. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

D-link is like the cheapest brand. You get what you pay for. Try something else with a bit more reliability. Like say NETGEAR or Linksys brand. But then again it could be a lot of crap around you thats effecting the connection. (and I hope your not piggy-backing of a neighbors connection). But ceiling lights, homephones, microwaves and the location of the router effect the connection.

I thought D-Link was one of the best? I've only ever heard bad things about Linksys and Netgear. I mean, the speed of my wireless internet is great, I can transfer entire movies in like two minutes. It's just it seems to cut out a lot.... Unfortunately, I can't really relocate my router, but it's in the room directly next to where my PS3 is, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem....

It's getting even worse, maybe my neighbours are using mine. I'm not sure how to set a password though, I tried before and it didn't make any difference at all, it still never asked me for the password or anything.... Meh, I'll just keep messing with it.

The best router is the Apple Airport Router, but unless you have multiple computers on it I don't think you need that kind of performance. I've seen linksys routers be unreliable too (my friends in college had one and I had to fix it once a month) Try netgear.

Wireless connections in general have given me nothing but trouble. Just buy an ethernet cable.

I would if I could, it's a whole room over, and it would have to run past a set of stairs. I wish wireless didn't suck.
