      Best Computer Toys

      Like the widgets thread, this one is for all the stuff.

      Mine is the Summarize service on OSX. It shortens any text to any by whatever percentage you want and shows it to you. Unfortunately I just found out about it, why the hell did no one tell me about it while I was in college? You bastards.

      Oh and that spinning cube thing in Ubuntu. Apple invented it, but they don't use it very well

      OSX uses the rotating cube for fast user switching, not spaces. It was introduced in Panther, which was released on October 24, 2003

      I love Expose, definitely the most useful advancement in a long time.

      Ditto, a clipboard replacement program. I couldn't live without it. Saves the last several thousand or so clipboard entries, and is searchable. No more losing stuff I copy to the clipboard.

      Rainmeter, a small, discrete systems meter widget that is fully customizable and skinnable. It's cousin, Rainlendar, a fully skinnable calendar widget, is sweet as well.

      Notepad++ simply wins.

      And Audiosurf is just awesome. Brings new meaning to 'playing a song'.

      That keyboard program that turns your computer keyboard into a piano is pretty sweet, too.

      And the free tethered shooting script for Nikon DSLRs found HERE is amazing in its simplicity. Plus it automatically displays in Adobe Bridge.

      There's this little 2D physics game called Phun that totally rocks, too. Then there's Terragen, which is awesome, and then Google Earth, which pretty trumps all computer toys with its amazing versatility and sheer coolness.

      Yep, that's my post.

      Oh, I haven't played with Phun in a while.
