      What's This

This happened for the first time not too long ago. (A month?) It happened very suddenly, I restarted PC and problem was gone. It happened twice again, and both times I restarted. I thought I might as well ask you guys if it's anything serious. :x

Picture is pretty self explanatory. That's the only part that was fucking up. Eventually my PC didn't let me do anything, e.g. if I clicked start, I would click some program but it wouldn't open.

Hmm, this doesn't give too much detail. :p

John Connor'd better be safe, they're taking over the Internet.

As ultima kid said, probably spyware.

Next time it happens, instead of restarting your computer, try just restarting explorer.exe.

Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, find explorer.exe in the Processes tab, click End Process, then in the Applications tab click New Task and type explorer.exe.

What MoS said... it's amazing how much explorer can fuck up your computer, and how easily you can overcome those annoying problems by just restarting it.

BTW if you're not familiar with what MoS is talking about, I think you're on vista so when you ctrl+alt+delete you'll wanna select Task Manager. You probably know that, though.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Download and full scan. Why? Because it is the answer to the meaning of life.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

The CTRL+SHIFT+Esc combination puts you directly into Task Manager, which is what MoS said.

Restarting Explorer will fix this problem, but it's your Aero theme that is messing up. While I do not know how to fix the problem, you can simply disable Aero, which, while giving you a not-so-pretty interface, should stop that error from happening. In Vista you turn off Aero by right clicking your Desktop, press Personalize, and press the menu at the top. A new Window should pop open, in here choose Classic View, press the drop-down menu and choose "Windows Basic". You can also select a a few other settings, which will make your computer look like Windows XP/Windows 98/ME.

Disabling Aero will disable transparency in Windows, and you will not be able to use the AMAZING Windows Button+TAB feature anymore.

It also disables accelerated graphics, which can make the windows lag behind when moving them.

All I know is that on every vista platform I've ever used, ctrl+alt+del only gets you to a stupid little menu, and from THAT you have to select "Start Task Manager" from about 5-7 other choices.

Typically, it does in XP. But, every computer I have used with Vista has gone to a prompt screen first. That's why I brought it up.

      Sorry, it's inexcusable, Shift.

Disabling Aero should give you a noticeable speed increase if you're using 2GBs or less RAM, too. I only have 1GB of RAM, and haven't used Aero since the novelty wore off, which was pretty damn fast. Lately I'm tempted to use Windows Classic window borders, since it seems to speed it up just a hair more even. This could be just my imagination, though.
