OSX has built in decompressors for almost all of those formats and then some. What are you trying to decompress?

I read somewhere that they made a MAC IZArc. I just thought the Wikipedia page needed updating.

I'm not really sure what I'm trying to decompress. What I want to decompress is a downloadable mod for one of my computer games. I think it is in "ZIP" files. I've been talking to designers and players of this mod, but they all own PCs (one MAC user transfered it to the MAC OS X), so I can't get good help from them.

My mom once mentioned, upon me asking, that we did have a file compressor, but she can't find it on the computer now.

It's not an app, it's built into the operating system. If you simply double click on a zip, Finder will automatically unzip it for you.

So, this works with other things, right? Such as RAR, 7-Zip, etc. files?

rar is Windows only, and not supported by anything other than winrar, it's old and deprecated, nothing uses it. As for 7zip, some of the formats you can do natively, others you need 7zip.

That's not true, you can find rar extractor for most systems, including linux and mac. Why, I've even got an unrar app on my android phone. And the rar format is more common than you'd think, especially in torrents. And it's not that bad either, I believe you get around the same performance with rar as with a bzip2 tarball. It's zip that's the worst one.

Why is this extremely important? I'm sure there's plenty of porn on pornotube and youtube to keep you satiated until you can open these compressed archives.
