      Am I doing it right?

So, I woke up and was still pretty tired so I decided to attempt a WILD. I didn't get down into a proper dream state, but I started getting some of the basic mind wandering and ideas of shapes and lines. When someone tried to get me up, I really felt like I couldn't move, not just that I didn't want to. it wasn't until I made a startled grunt and jerked my whole body a little that I was able to "wake up" normally.

So, am I a lazy pants or are the early stages of sleep paralysis way less bad than I thought?

It also sounds like you may have fallen asleep in the process. Are you sure you didn't?

I have no idea. I was aware of things and the amount of time that passed in my estimation matched up to the amount of time my eyes were closed, if that helps.
