      Question WILD Issues...

I've never WILDed before (DILDed quite a few times though), but I tried to last night. I pictured myself behind the wheel of my car, driving through my neighborhood. I tried to think mostly about how it felt to turn my steering wheel. The only problem was I could not focus on this image. I kept losing it and my mind kept wandering, so I had to keep trying to get it back on track. I finally started to feel the onset of sleep paralysis, and saw some HI start to form into an image of my hands on the wheel, but then I got excited and also heard a noise come from upstairs, so I was jarred completely out of the potential WILD.

So here are my questions: How can I avoid getting too excited? And also, how can I keep my mental imagery without having my mind wander all over the place?

What works VERY well for me is to focus on your hands. See the detail in them until the dream gets very vivid. This works 90% of the time, and seems to work for a lot of other lucid dreamers.

      1. Practice.

      2. Practice.

It's not my intention to sound like a smartass, but some answers are only internalized/effective by experience. The ones you raised are two of those. While little tips here and there may serve as aids, then only thing that will really help you push past the issues you addressed is continual practice.
