      Short Question

      Okay, so something I'm not really clear on when I try to WILD.

      Here's what I do: wake up 5 hrs after sleep, then get in comfy position and don't move, and concentrate on "1, I'm dreaming. 2, I'm dreaming..." during inhales and exhales. But then what? When does the imagery and stuff come on? Is it okay to stop counting if my mind is fairly clear? Am I trying to fall asleep or just letting it come to me? Right now, I just sort of lay there and become more awake and get over it (the few times I've tried, I lay there for hours and still nothing, so it's not like I don't try, I just feel like I'm doing something wrong). When I don't move for a while I get a sort of tingly feeling in my arms, hands, legs, and feet, similar to when a body part "falls asleep," but that's about it.

      So, anyway, my question in short: should I just concentrate on breathing and counting until the imagery and stuff begins?

      WILDing is exactly the same as going to sleep normally, the only difference is that you're conscious through the process. How do you normally go to sleep? I bet you don't lie in your bed thinking "1, I'm dreaming. 2, I'm dreaming..." That would keep you up for hours (and it did)

      When you go to bed you don't concentrate on anything, you just let your thoughts wander on their own, and the HI will eventually form itself. All you need is a good consciousness anchor. Look up BillyBob's WILD tut, he goes into pretty good detail about it. But basically, an anchor is something that "grounds you" in reality. Like the noise of a fan in your room. The anchor must be able to hold up even under hallucinations, like rapid breathing and heart rate (so you can guess that focusing on these things is not a good choice of anchor). Although everyone is different. Once you get your first WILD, you'll know what to do. You'll have experienced the SP so you'll know what I'm talking about.

      Basically stop concentrating on the process, just let it happen. You shouldn't even concentrate on the anchor, but keep it in the back of your mind.
