      Going to try WILD tonight.

Hi all! I'm going to try to WILD tonight. Please tell me if this is a good plan.

      1. Set alarm for 5 hours after going to sleep.
      2. Go to sleep.
      3. Wake up when alarm sounds.
      4. Write down dream, go to the bathroom, maybe RC a few.
      5. Pull up "Brainwave Mind Voyages; Series 1: Trance Induction."
      6. Put on headphones, and get in bed.
      7. Listen to whole track while laying still. (it's 14 minutes long)
      8. Once it finishes, relax some more.

Okay, that's all I have planned; but I don't know what to do next. If I have already hitten SP; what do I do?
If I have not, what can I do to make SP occur?
      Thanks in advance!

P.S.: The track is for relaxing, I think. It's mainly an aid in WILDing, I have read somewhere on DV.

Now I'm no expert at WILDing, (only successfully done it one,) but because I'd hate for you to get no replies and then go blindly into your attempt tonight, I'll give you my method.

I do pretty much exactly what you do, minus the music, and then I lie in bed on my back very still. I try to get as comforatable as possible before hand because the trick is not to move any muscle, including (and especially) your eyes. I make sure my muscles aren't tense, and then I count my breaths silently to myself and say "I am dreaming". Now I've never experienced a very long SP, (usually lasts about 1-2 seconds of vibes for me,) but I think you just have to get past that part by 'waiting'. Then, simply enter into a dream world knowing you are dreaming, or occasionaly you will be in your own bed and will have to 'get up out of your body'. (I think that part is really cool.) Then just do a RC and some stabilization, set your goals, and off you go!

That's just my method. KingYoshi has a pretty good WILD method, very similar to mine. Is the music you are listening to binural beats? That's the best stuff to listen to; Theta I believe is for WILDing. It relaxes you, and puts your brain in a good state to enter REM sleep. SP you will probably know when it hits you. I think you just have to wait for it to occur. You want to trick your body into thinking your mind is asleep by not moving, thinking about nothing/one thing like your breathing OR letting your thoughts wonder while still being attached to an anchor, and by being relaxed already.

To sum it up, you have everything good so far, you just need that final step of staying still until SP hits, and your LD experience begins. I've said this before, but if any experts find anything wrong with my advice, please correct me. Happy WILDing!

Thanks for your help! And yes it is a binaural beat; but there is a voice telling you things in it too. I'm pretty sure this is used with a WILD, because I remember reading that around DV.
I did the technique that you do a few times before, all though it didn't work for me that well. I got bored and forgot what I was doing.
So maybe tonight I'll just hang onto a specific sound in the track, and maybe that could be my anchor.
      I'll post results tomorrow.

My WILD attempts have been futile so far, my mind has a mind of its own and likes to wander about and I just can't stay still for too long. Your plan sounds like a good one maybe I should try it out too.

      Okay
Well, last night didn't go too well. My alarm went off, I woke up and shut it off; but I layed in the bed, and decided I was too tired to get up. I listened to a little bit of the track earlier that day, and the voice in it kind of creeped me out. I'm sort of scared of SP, mainly of the audio hallucinations. So I gave up, and fell back to sleep.
I'll try again tonight, and hopefully I'll have some more courage.

I tried it in a nap today to see what I could accomplish.
      Nothing, for the most part.
Yet I did see faint lights swarming behind my closed eyelids, but that could have been because I was moving my eyes so much.
Speaking of that, how can I stop my eyes wanting to flutter? It's like, when I close my eyes and start listening to it; what if I see some faint HI and kind of "explore" it with my eyes (behind closed eyelids), and my eyes are wanting to open? Also, sometimes when I close my eyes and am attempting a WILD they are almost trying to flutter open.

Got up at the right time and listened to it until it stopped. Then I layed there for about 10 minutes or so (the whole time it had been about 25 minutes), and I was still feeling the same; completely relaxed. So I rolled over and went to sleep.
I just kinda get bored when waiting I guess, and also like I said before i'm kind of afraid of the audio hallucinations.

Yeah I have been trying to WILD lately and I usually just end up falling asleep too. Now that I have been practicing though I have gotten some hallucinations here and there so I think I'm getting closer. Try not to be afraid of the hallucinations because I'm sure the fear will just make it that much harder to get into the dream. I have heard many people even say they don't have the hallucinations when WILDing so maybe your the same way. But if not just remember that the hallucinations are not separate from you and there is nothing to fear. If anything try to enjoy the hallucinations; although this may distract you from your goal of WILDing, but then perhaps you could get used to them and not even worry about it the next time you try to WILD. For your eyes I would recommend trying reverse blinking for a few minutes before trying to WILD. It always makes my eyes pretty heavy and helps me fall back to sleep. Keep in mind I'm no expert on lucid dreaming just thought I could help a bit.

Dont really worry about the technique too much, just try to visualize a scene then step into it.

And remember to make sure you FALL ASLEEP!

Good technique. I should try that too when I go to bed tonight.

Haha. Tell me if it works for you
Alright, so I was too lazy last night to WILD. End of story.
I'll see if I can try again tonight though.

      there are two primaries:

knowing the opportunity of experiencing unfamiliar consciousness
wanting the exploration because you realize the positive value in doing so

the experience of fear can be tremendous while entering an unfamiliar ground that beholds the unknown.
though it will only be present if you are dishonest to truly acknowledging the two primaries and holding it as a torch which will produce light in the darkness and allow you to move through and enter that.

      good luck

Without exception every single time I enter SP I am sleeping in a semi prone/supine position. It never happens unless I am in that position. And I usually have to be sleep deprived in some way. For instance, I have experienced SP 2 times in the past week and both times I only got 5 hours of sleep the night before and decided to nap while the kiddos were at school. Both times I was in a darkened and quiet room. Both experiences were loaded with visual and auditory hallucinations. The first time was definitely more frightening than the first but today I was not as frightened because I now know what I am experiencing is not dangerous. I tried to "go with it" today and ended up getting so frustrated I pulled myself out of the SP. I guess my suggestion to you would be get only a few hours of sleep tonight and then nap tomorrow in the semi prone/supine position in a quiet room.

It didn't. At least I tried and wasn't lazy this time. I got up, went to the bathroom, but I couldn't remember any dreams (I always remember my dreams every single night, it was just too early for REM I guess). I listened to a 5 minute lucid binaural beats mp3 with my headphones on, lying on my back, but my thoughts were already racing and I already had other distracting music stuck in my head so I could hardly pay attention to the track at all. Once that ended, I decided to lie there and leave my headphones on, as the noise cancelling created a faint, steady background fuzz. I tried to lay very still, but my feet are always touching each other in my usual position and they always end up feeling unnatural and "pushed" against each other, plus I'm always itching somewhere. The hardest thing to do is keep your eyes still, especially since my method is watching for closed eye visuals.

After a while of trying to keep still but trying to relax, I eventually moved to my side, and that was much more comfortable to keep still in. I switched sides after that and I guess I gave up and fell asleep.

I wonder if it's better if I try to WILD every night (or at least every other night) so that I get used to the attempts and my stress levels about it go down.

That's what happens to me a lot. I guess some techniques are for others. I'll try that again tonight, I couldn't last night because of storms.
