Where to Start? Constant Failures and I need help!

Hi, Guys! After reading about Lucid Dreaming, the WILD technique stuck out to me the most. I have read multiple techniques on how to achieve lucidity, but it seems none work for me. I have been trying to WBTB, but I'm always way too tired. Also, in doing WILDS, I find it extremely uncomfortable to lay on back and I feel I will never fall asleep. Lastly, I have constantly failed to achieve SP. Could someone please give me a step by step, detailed explanation of what i could do/focus on for success? Thank you

I have been trying to WBTB, but I'm always way too tired.
WBTB is very important, unless you're WILDing during a nap. It's very tempting to WILD as soon as you wake up, without leaving bed. This may be possible for some people, but (for me) it's very hard to stay aware while falling asleep again! You don't have to stay up for very long in your WBTB. Go back to bed whenever you feel like you're not going to lose your consciousness as soon as you hit the bed. 5-10 minutes is often enough.

Also, in doing WILDS, I find it extremely uncomfortable to lay on back and I feel I will never fall asleep.
You don't have to lie on your back. Yesterday I had two WILDs from lying on my left side. I've heard that it's easier to be sleep paralysed when lying on back, but personally I don't think your sleeping position matters. So, lie however you want, and relax.

Lastly, I have constantly failed to achieve SP. Could someone please give me a step by step, detailed explanation of what i could do/focus on for success?
I wake up after 4-6 hours of sleep. After about five minutes I return to my bed. I start my WILD attempt with lying on my back, because it's the most comfortable position in my opinion. Soon I'll start to see swirling colours, so I alternate between watching them and visualising things. Sometimes I just let my mind wander. This is where I usually fail my attempt. It's important to remind myself to not go completely unconscious.

After a while, I'll hit SP right away, or feel a strong urge to roll over. I've found out that it doesn't hurt my WILD attempt if I do so, and sometimes the sleep paralysis happen very shortly after I've been rolling over to my side. For me, sleep paralysis feels like strong vibrations, and then I'll quickly transition into a dream.

It takes some training to be successful with WILDs, but just keep on practising! Good luck!

You can not learn to lucid dream just by reading a book or on a forum, just like everything else you need experience.
But I can explain what I do and you might get some inspiration.

An almost guaranteed way to get a lucid dream is to use Stephen LaBerge version of WBTB /Wake Back to Bed:
Go to sleep, wake up 6 hours later, stay up for 2-3 hours, go back to sleep with the intention to realise that you are dreaming. (WBTB/MILD)

But usually we don't have the luxury to do that so here is what I do otherwise.
Go to bed, focus on the back of my eyelids while going to sleep, my goal is to someday be able to WILD here. But if I fall asleep here I will usually notice my microawakenings that i have during the night, and when I notice that I have woke up I lay still and have closed eyes and just daydream for a bit, if I notice any swtich in my awareness or that my thoughts feels vivid (hard to explain but when you experience it you will understand) I just stand up because I know that I am dreaming (Because of lots of False Awakening experiences...). If not I just focus on the black space behind my closed eyes again and go back to sleep.

Sometimes I set an alarm to wake me up 6 hours after my bedtime, but the microawakening is enough for me now.

What I am describing is basically how to DEILD. I hope you learned something new = ) And by the way you don't have to lay on your back while WILDING.
The important thing is that you are comfortable and can get relaxed.
