      Craziest Sensation of my Life!

Ok so I'm kind of new to the whole LDing thing right now (I had tried about a year ago without much success and then eventually got out of it because of school, and now I've been trying again for about a month with determination to learn this skill) so I've been working on recall, awareness, DILD mostly but last night I didn't remember any dreams so I decided to nap and try to WILD. (If I succeed, great, but if I didn't I felt like I would at least end up in a dream that I could record) I had tried before a few times without success and had one experience where I felt like I was fairly close; I noticed vibrating and noises but it freaked me out and my heartbeat raced and eventually I psyched myself back back into bed.

But this time was insane! I had laid in my bed to try it and got super relaxed and tried to ignore my body and focus on being lucid but eventually my mind would wander so I decided to just to fall asleep, which I must have because it's a couple hours later. I don't remember many details of a dream except towards the end I had a feeling I was in my bed trying to WILD again, except I was in a bed in my old house (i live in an apartment now) which I didn't consider odd (sucks I could have just become lucid there ). So I was lying in bed and I thought I heard my mom come home (she's like 300 miles away so I should have realized something was off there but I didn't) and I wanted to get into a dream before she woke me up. So I was lying there and began to hear a super loud rushing sound and realized it was working! I told myself to stay calm and go with it and I did and my body started vibrating to the point where I felt like I was gonna shake myself off my bed but I reminded myself that it was a hallucination. Then by upper body started to twist and contort around the rest of my body in impossible ways and I could hear a loud roaring sound and hear my bones popping but didn't feel any pain so it didn't bother me too much, it was just kinda freaky. Earlier when I first started I had decided on a visualization for my dream but at this point I couldn't quickly think of what it was so I started flipping through scenes for my dream, which was surprisingly easy which was cool because I'm not very good at clearly visualizing things. A few landscapes flashed through my head and eventually I stopped on one that was a long twisting road and told myself to go there. My body kept twisting around and felt my body tingling and could still hear the roaring and popping from my bones and the scene got clearer and clearer. I didn't really know what to do at this point and my mind was racing deciding what to do. Eventually I started to think about my body and I realized I had to use the restroom, which led to me eventually waking up in my bed instead of in the dream. After finally waking up I really had to use the restroom so I decided to get up and go do that and try again but when I laid back down I realized I was way too wired to do it after that experience.

I'm a little disappointed at this result because I felt like I was on the verge of getting it and then I get rejected from the dream. But this was an awesome sensation and I feel like it was a great practice run to understand what it's like and get comfortable with it. I don't know if it technically was a real experience because I think I was in a dream when I was doing it but it sure felt real; like what I've heard people say about it.

Before this I had been fairly scared of the experience because I didn't know what exactly to expect and I'm not used to SP. But after what just happened I'm hooked! That was the most awesome sensation I have ever felt in my life. I'm really excited to try again and succeed, though I think I had good success this time because I was already in a dream at the time and could clear my head to just focus on WILDing which is why it worked so quickly (in the dream, not quick overall because apparently I had been lying there for hours already).

But yea, wow , I just wanted to share this experience for those people who may be apprehensive about trying because of the fear. It's an insane sensation and once it happens you'll love it, huge adrenaline rush. I'm wide awake now and I feel great. I hope I can be at least this successful the next time I try.

Edit: After posting this I just noticed how much I typed, sorry for the huge wall of text, I didn't realize I had typed so much I just had to get it all out there.

My advice, keep doing it, and if you don't like the sensations after the novelty has worn off then try and do the same on your side.

Actually during this one I was already on my side, but I was asleep so I didn't really consider that. Usually I begin by trying on my back because it's most comfortable and easier to ignore my body, but after a while if it doesn't work I'll switch and try on my left, then on my right, and then back to my back before giving up and going to sleep or getting up.

I'm too awake to try it again today but I'll try again tomorrow during WBTB since it's the weekend and I'll have time to practice it.
