Hypnic Jerk during a WILD attempt?

So the other night I decided to try a WILD. (I took a break from WILDing for about a month and was not interested for a while) But now that school is ending I want to get back into it. Anyway, I was about to fall asleep for the night (I know, a terrible time to WILD) But I felt I was falling asleep very fast. I didn't move and tried to keep focus. My mind started slowly fading away, I was become more subconscious... I finally lose thought of my WILD attempt when OH MY DAYS HURRY WAKE UP oh just kidding, thought you were going to slam into the ground, go back to sleep now. So my WILD attempt started to fail and what I'm assuming was around 10 minutes that had elapsed, I had a hypnic jerk. I did a reality check, but it failed and went to sleep. Does the hypnic jerk have any relevance to successfully doing a WILD? Was I at least somewhat close to entering a dream? Thanks.

That's just a natural thing your body does to wake you up sometimes. It's annoying, but sometimes it is helpful to get your awareness back up when drifting off. Just to answer: NO, hypnic jerks are NOT a requirement of a WILD.
