tl;dr it isn't SP. Those are normal bodily sensations you may experience because you are staying aware as your body is sleeping, so the transition has many sensations that can accompany it. |

So I attempted my second WILD last night hoping to enter full lucidity to get back at the mole man who tried to kill me. Anyway, in the attempts of the wild I got partially SP in my shoulder that would snake out through my chest and arm. It was a weird vibration feeling as if a covering was being put over my body. Then my breathing would get really shallow and speed up, which kicked in my freak out mode (Have a phobia of drowning). I managed to stay still for all of this, but I couldn't stop thinking. I would randomly sing the same words over and over again. Something about banana's and penut butter that I can't remember. On top of that all these really strange images would pop into my head. Men with strange mask, big hairy spiders, a purple velt top hat with a mouth licking its lips, Ex's with red eyes and fangs. The images would pop into my head for a split second and then vanish. All of this was ok to handle, it was the damn tickling sensation I couldn't get over. My body would suddenly have one spot that was randomly becoming ticklish, my arm, my hip, my upper lip, my nose, the back of my head. I would try my best to fight it off, ignore it and stay still, but the more I ignored it the more intense it got to the point I had to scratch it. Is this a normal sensation, or did I WILD wrong? |

You are allowed to move during your WILD attempt if you are uncomfortable. There is no magical countdown clock that gets reset when you move. Too much movement will make it harder to fall asleep and thus make it harder to WILD, but it's much more important to be comfortable and able to relax. |

For some reason I was under the impression that moving would prolong the attempt. I am not sure where I read that. |

Well moving can prolong the attempt. Just like tossing and turning makes it harder to finally fall asleep. But lack of movement is not what gets you a WILD. It's possible to roll over during your attempt and then succeed a few seconds later. Movement just isn't an important factor in the grand scheme of things. This is very, very common misunderstanding. |
