      Urgh, this is so confusing

      Hi.

This is my first post on the forums, however I registered like a month ago >< " .

Well I have been reading a lot about lucid dreams and been watching many videos about it, most of the stuff I read was from DV Forum. I am still confused because so many things contrast the other things and it just got out of hand that I have no idea what to basically do in order to LD. I have very very hard time when attempting to remember my dreams, it seems like I remember them like once of two months, even just 1 minute of it. I'm not really sure where to start now in order to LD.

I have been trying WILDs most of the time. First time I ever tried it back at August, I heard whispers after 10-15 minutes I just layed still and I aborted because I was too scared. Now however, whenever I try to do it again, even after hour - hour n' half I'm laying down, hearing nothing. I count by my breathing, attempting to relax. I reached to ~400 once and just went to sleep. In most of my WILDs I see just white lights about after 15-20 minutes of not moving, for about 1-2 minutes and then nothing.

Another problem I posses is that I just can't keep my eyes relaxed. When I do, my eyes open o_O .. its like opening on its own and I can't even help it, because if I'll do so, I'll basically move a muscle or w/e that will reset the whole process of WILD or whatever. I've seen many tutorials saying different things and I just don't know what to god damn it. I want to lucid dream very badly that I'm frustrated already.

And by the way, sorry for my poor grammer; English isn't my native language where I come from ><" .

      Hello!

First of all you should improve your dream recall. Do you have a dream journal? If not you should get one, it will help you with it. Nowadays I recall every morning a minimum of 2 dreams and up to 4/5, and it could be a lot better. As I have said, get a dream journal, and every morning write down everything you remember of your dreams, even if you remember a place, or just a person. Also write how you feel in that moment and if you did not have any dream.

For your first lucid you should try with DILD/MILD, it seems to be the easiest way to attain lucidity at first. Do reality checks during the day, and when you do them think that you could really be dreaming.

Keeping eyes closed while attempting a WILD is a common problem, it also happens to me; you can fix it with a mask. Don't get frustrated, keep trying and working on it, if you have motivation eventually you will have lucid dreams. Good luck!
I like destruction and reality, and one invariably leads to the other.
