      How to properly do WILD

I made my first two attempts at WILD last night but while there were some interesting experiences I did not become lucid. I am hoping some experienced WILDers can give me tips on the mistakes I'm making.

      - I went to bed around 10:30pm, prolly fell asleep by 11:00 and woke up from sleep around 1:00am. Don't know if I was dreaming or not but decided to keep my mind conscious. Was this attempting too early? I tried again at 5:45 with no luck either.

      - I kept saying I am dreaming mentally while waiting for sleep to return. I may have temporarily slipped into sleep by 1:45am but when I regained consciousness I couldn't move my right hand, forearm or foot. This was my first experience with what may be paralysis but those parts also felt heavy and ached a little. Both my hands were on my stomach with the elbows on the bed so maybe it was lack of blood reaching the forearm and hand? The left hand was in the same place too but completely unparalysed. So did I experience partial sleep paralysis or was it something else?

      - I never became lucid because I would drift into sleep. I tried 2 techniques while awake : repeating "I'm dreaming" in my head mentally or if I had said it over a 100 times I would relax and watch the patterns in from of my closed eyes and hoped something would appear. Neither kept me conscious.

      - The reason I am able to give such specific times is that have an LED clock to the right of my bed so I would turn my head to look at it every now and then. Was this too much activity and open eyes for waiting for a WILD?

      - While I was waiting, I would get the urge to yawn or swallow. Initially I tried holding the yawns in but they became too strong to suppress. I always just swallowed as quickly as I can. Any recommendation for what to do when these two occur?

      - I sleep without a shirt but with a blanket which keeps me warm enough. Is this okay?

      Please advise....

I am to practicing WILD but i dont do WBTB i sleep to without a shirt with the covers over me i get so close to sleep pyralisis but i cant actually get to it but i just had my first about 2 min ago lol but what i do know is that your eyes have to be completely still because our eyes make micromovments during the day but when we sleep they dont and thats a way the body knows your awake #2 the way you breathe has to almost match when your asleep me and my friend did a test when he fell alseep i watched how he breathed he took in about 1/4 of air in but other than that everything else was like normal breathing. the answers to your questions i will do in order. #1 I would turn my head to look at it every now and then. Was this too much activity and open eyes for waiting for a WILD? Answer yes you have to be as still as possible i wold not recomend opening your eyes your body will know your awake......Question #2 would get the urge to yawn or swallow. Initially I tried holding the yawns in but they became too strong to suppress. Answer If you have to yawn or swollow its okay to if you have to it wont mess up anything because we do it in our sleep you dont want somthing to bug you while your trying to WILD. Hope this helped you buddy and i hope you have one its well worth it!

Woohoo! Just had my first one this morning! Lost the dream and woke up almost immediately out of excitement but that is to be expected for a beginner like me. Now reading up on how to maintain lucidity. Next step is to stay in the dream and increase frequency of becoming lucid.
