      Frustrating.

      Hello dreamers!
I'm here to share my recent experiences trying to achieve lucid dream from WILD.
I luckily always had lucid dreams naturally since I was a kid, but got really fascinated when I started to read about the techniques to achieve these dreams, as well all the experiences from you, dreamers.
I've been trying WILD since last Monday.
I'm on vacation now, so I don't have classes, then I'm using these mornings to apply the techniques.
I normally wake up at 9 or 10 am. I'm setting my alarm everyday to 7:30 am, I get up, eat some breakfast, come back to bed and then I start read and see some stuff about Lucid dream until 8:30 am.
When the 1-hour break is complete, I lay on back and get ready to try the technique.
Problem: I live in a house with a lot of people (father, mother, brother and 2 loud dogs) and plus, I'm a really LIGHT sleeper.
Since I've been trying the technique, I've been doing well, concentrating really hard, mantras, "ignoring" the brain awake signs, but ALWAYS some external NOISE ruins everything.
The dogs barks, people call each other, going up and down on stairs, doors closing, etc., and this really confound me, so then I lose my concentration.
I'll give you an example from this recent morning.
I got to bed at 8:30am, with some headphones on, so it would at least help reducing the noise from the outside.
I started concentrating with my breath, body and mind. Everything was going well, my brain sending my awake signs, I just ignored them, etc. I was almost getting to Sleep Paralysis, I was feeling that.
But then my kind 2 dogs started barking like crazy. When they started, I remember a BIG white flash in my eyes (like when you are with eyes closed and you get scared with something) and a complete loss of concentration.
I kept trying concentrating again, but I was feeling my body was getting tired and the concentration was no longer there. It was 9:15am and then I got to sleep without achieving LD or even SP.

      My 2 questions are:

Is there anything I can do/listen to help me get through this phase faster?

If I get to SP or almost get to it and lose my concentration, is there any way I can try again and again? Or if you try once and lose it, it's "over" for the day?

I can concentrate well, but ALL external noises (which happen ALL the time in my 'BLESSED' house) really ruins my concentration.
Monday I got really close, I went through SP, but got a little bit frightened, since I didn't know what to do through this period, so then I woke up. After that I read a lot about it and now I know that you have to 'be cool' with that and let it go.
But Tuesday, Wednesday and today, my concentration was ruined.

Thank you for having this forum. It's awesome to learn more about a really fascinating and incredible phenomenon.
I think more people really should learn more about, it's the answer for a lot of questions of people's life.

I'm looking forward to hear some of your tips, dreamers.

      Best,

      LF

Looks like you have a noisy home.
Use some earplugs. I do that for years. For sleeping and for meditation too. In the morning i am a light sleeper and i wake up because of noises. So, earplugs will do the trick. You'll hear nothing. Well, you'll hear your breath louder but that's a plus.

As for losing concentration, it's not over. You can get back to it. Once i was performing WILD and i got to the vibration state. But my blanket was bothering me (was covering my mouth). So, i lost concentration but, very calmly i uncovered myself (curious that when i was doing this, i felt the vibrations all the way through) and then i got back to WILD. A successful one, because i then entered a beautiful dream.

      Got it.
Yeah, my house is really noisy. I almost killed my 2 dogs after they start barking like crazy. hehehe.
Is there any sound/music I could be listening during this concentration period? Something that won't affect the phases afterwards?

That i cannot say because i never listen to music or sounds to have a dream. I prefer absolute silence. I use it however to meditate. I prefer ambient music.
If you want to listen to something, i suggest ambient music. Something that does not have many instruments and note variations or melodies, to not distract you.

Nice! Do you have any ambient music in mind to suggest?

      Muito obrigado!

On Youtube you'll find tons of videos with 3 or 4 hours of ambient music, sounds, etc. Just search for "meditation music" or "music for dreams" or another type of phrases.
The one i've been listening these days is this one. The 1st track of 20 minutes is great.
