*Update*
So I attempted the same technique again this morning and had some pretty resounding results. I was instantly lucid upon transition and had quite an interesting experimentation phase where I was just testing stuff. I still couldn't get control and clarity quite down as vivid as I'd like but it is still impressive having achieved that after not having tried doing lucid dreaming for almost 2 years. As a bizarre coincidence I was doing KingYoshi's very thorough WILD guide without even knowing it. By shifting positions and even the transition part as well. Very interesting to keep working with this in the future.
*End*
I was trying a WBTB+WILD this morning and did get some results but I seem to have hit a wall when it comes to the full transition into the dream. I woke up after about 5 hours of sleep, read a bit on the forum here and then started doing various positions of laying down. It is mostly to induce the numbness and relaxation as I still move around to get comfortable and allow the transition to happen as naturally as possible.
So after going from being on my back, to my left side, then my right, and then finally on on my back again but slightly laying on the left as well is where I nearly "broke through". What happened was the numbness was pretty strong and I was totally relaxed and I suppose my thoughts were drifting to some scenario in my daily life. There was a descending sensation as if I was just easing my way very calmly into the dream which I have had before a few times although also a few times it's felt like rushing down a tunnel at high speed.
I got stuck at the point where I was actually in the dream and lucid, as the WILD seemed to have worked but for some reason I swear I was still under the effects of the paralysis and couldn't move or do anything really. I definitely had the sense that I had "broken through" so to speak but I am not sure if I gave it enough time to manifest fully before attempting to exert my control over the situation.
It has been a long time, maybe a couple of years since my last lucid dream and research into the subject but I am trying to get back into it again and it's very hopeful for a new attempt after so long.
