Hello, I'm new to lucid dreaming. I tried for a while with no results. Here's what happened last night though after taking some galantamine..
First time I took 4 mg galantamine and 200 mg choline. No results at all. Last night I took 8 mg of galantamine and 400 mg of choline at about 4:15 am after sleeping for a few hours, then I went back to bed at 5:00. I'd never had sleep paralysis or anything before that, but I did get sleep paralysis shortly after. I knew what it was, so I just kept my eyes closed and didn't bother trying to move. I focused on staying calm and staying conscious. I got "exploding head syndrome" which sounded like there was a very loud vacuum cleaner on inside my head. I didn't know how to go lucid from that state though, but I'd heard of opening your mouth and breathing to try for an OBE. I felt like I just turned into liquid and started waving around, then it felt like I floated off my bed and out of it toward a green light on the ground (my bed is lofted). After that, I just was standing in a corner and couldn't move. It was like I hadn't fully separated, and although I seemed to be standing in a corner, I still couldn't move. After that I just lost consciousness and had some normal dreams later in the night. The whole experience of EHS and floating is really blurry, but I'm convinced that it really happened and I nearly had an OBE. I really don't think I just dreamed it.
So my questions are.. Can any veterans help me on what to do the next time this happens? Is there a trick to staying conscious and focused during sleep paralysis? Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get from sleep paralysis into a lucid dream? And also, when I woke up in the morning, I was lightheaded and a bit shaky from the galantamine. I think this is a good dosage to keep at for now, because I got results and was never really nauseous, but the lightheadedness was enough to keep me feeling pretty crappy until it wore off at about 11 am. Will I get lightheaded every time I use this stuff probably, or is it something my body will adjust to?
