Red face Transition stage of WILD

I've been trying this technique http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=9806 i think its a standard WILD but I am not sure about the counting part
It says to start counting 1 I am dreaming,2 I am dreaming and so on but what if you get to about 50 and there are no sounds, or random thoughts?
Do you start over from 1 or do you try to ,,daydream,, a bit and continue from 50?

Try to daydream a little. Try a VILD, maybe. Don't focus too much on the counting.

And I know people that counted to several hundred trying to WILD.. Don't give up.
      Bollocks.

The counting works wonders for me, I can't make this technique work unless I count. I'll usually get to about 30 before my body starts to fall asleep. I think the key is not letting any random thoughts enter your mind, the counting should be the only thing going on in your head. This is not easy, but you will get better over time as long as you stick with it.

thanks for your advice guys i think ill try to focus completely on the counting because i think i generally have a bit of a hard time focusing on stuff in RL let alone when im trying to sleep
so even though i think that daydreaming a bit when you are close to falling a sleep may even get me a faster result, after trying it a couple of times i think that thinking about counting and daydreaming at the same time is probably too much for me at least for now

These are basically different WILD techniques. In this counting method, you are supposed to just keep your mind busy with mental tasks until you realize you're dreaming.
If you're keeping an eye out for the hypnagogic hallucinations, you want to be doing the HIT. If you want to visualize, then you want to do the VILD method. If you want to use SP, then use those methods.

so I tried the counting thing again, actually wanted to try but i always wanted to wait until i started to get at least a couple of random thoughts first so i wouldnt have to count to like 200-300 but in doing that i think i did a HIT actually twice because i was just trying to relax and when I got some visual halucinations i just observed them for a bit and they gradually got more ,,deep,, and i realized i could move without actualy moving in my bed, so it was hello LD
