So close to a WILD last night.

Last night I went to bed at 1:15 and I woke up at 5, coincidentally. I decided to try and WILD. I stayed up for almost 10 minutes, and then I laid down and went through the WILDing technique.

I was very close, with auditory hallucinations and even feeling the "body lift." At that point I freaked out and stopped. I heard a loud sizzling noise that sounded as if my brain shorted out. For some reason, this really made me freak. I sat up in bed and lost it all. Any ideas as to overcome this fear of Hypnagogic imagery/auditory hallucinations?

I loved that body lifting feeling on my first wild.

I watched a video that said that when trasfering from waking to dreaming state, you get this sound, kind of like when your in between stations on a radio.

And with the other stuff just relax =0

I had the same thing happen to me this morning. It started with auditory hallucinations while in the hypnagogic state, and I could hear this song that I always play on the piano, but it was REALLY vivid and loud and I thought I was hearing it for real.

Then the imagery became me sitting at the piano in an unknown room with my hands mimicking the song. But because my mind was awake, I knew that I could bash any keys and the song would still come out, which it did.

And then the SP kicked in, very very instantly. I felt a shaking motion like a jackhammer and then I was immersed in a white screen with fast-scrolling black letters zooming past me kinda like in the matrix. I was still sitting on the piano stool. I felt like I was being choked and could not breathe, and I was aware that I must be in SP because of how strange and sudden it was.

But then I instantly opened my eyes and I was back in bed, I did a reality check and realised i was now in reality.

I wasn't scared when I woke up, and because I knew the choking wasn't really going to hurt me, I let it happen passively. So why did I wake up? Was it the fact I'd never experienced that odd feeling before that caused me to lose my state?
