      Attempting to WILD

Alright. So I am trying to WILD. From the info that I am about to lay out, can someone tell me more detailed information about this certain part?

      1. Wake up after sleeping for 3-4 hours.

      2. Get comfortable and relaxed.

      3. Lie in bed, still, for about 20 minutes.

      4. Switch from an external, to an internal attention.

      5. Enter SP

      6. Dream

I am having trouble WILDing because I have not enough in depth explanation for each thing. I mean, as soon as I get to a certain part, I think. "Oh... what do I do now?" So if you could help explain each step in a better form, more detailed, more in depth, etc. That would be so great! So please, help me if you can!

      1. Wake up after sleeping for 3-4 hours.
Ok, this good (for me and maybe for you), but alot of people like to wake after around 6 hours of sleep. The reason for this is the fact that the REM periods are much closer together in the later hours of sleep. Thus, you have a better chance of hitting close to the beginning of one, making it easier to WILD. Just play around with the times and find out what is best for you. Also, try to stay awake for 10-20 minutes, so you aren't so sleept that you fall asleep normally. Also, don't stay up too long if you are a person who has trouble falling back to sleep. You should also experiment with this and see what best suits you.

      2. Get comfortable and relaxed.
Correct, if you are in a WBTB situation, then you should be sufficiently relaxed and all you really have to do is get into a nice comfortable sleeping position.

      3. Lie in bed, still, for about 20 minutes.
Lie completely still the entire time. It usually takes no more than 20 minutes. Make sure you aren't focusing too hard on not moving. Just remain as relaxed as possible.

      4. Switch from an external, to an internal attention.
Right, I do this during your step 3 however. Just let your mind wonder. Think about anything and everything. Soon you will start to get closer to visions of your thoughts rather than blind thought. Just make sure you keep up your awareness. Don't forget about what you are trying to do.

      5. Enter SP
Once you enter SP, your thoughts will be fully replaced by visions and hallucinations (auditory & visual). Just stay as calm as possible and get into this mind frame "I am expecting and know 100% fact that I will succeed. Be confident and even cocky." Don't worry about failing or you may just do that. Lay still and have the "bring it on attitude" when it comes to HH. Passively watch the HI, but try not to focus too much on it. Usually, you will begin to "see through closed eyelids." At this point you are extremely close. Most of the time, you don't have to do much of anything and your dream will form around you with little more effort. Just wait it out and you have successfully transitioned. If you feel you have been in SP a long time and aren't making any progress (no solid dream scene has appeared), then go ahead and attempt to imagine the very room you are in, or any dream scene you wish (through my experience it is easier to imagine the room you fell asleep in, but you can do it either way). Once the dream scene is created, immerse yourself within it. Then you should be ready to step into it/stand up from your lying position into it/etc.

      6. Dream
Go ahead and do some stabilization techniques. Rub your hands together, do some RCs (for stabilization, because you will already know you are dreaming), shout "Increase clarity now!", dream spin, or whatever stabilization techniques you like to use. Remember to remain calm. Don't get too excited. Again have the mindset of an experienced LDer (whether you are one or not). Think "This is natural for me. I'm a an excellent lucid dreamer." Go ahead and explore/try some dream goals/ or whatever you may want to do. Once you feel yourself waking up, you now have 3 options.
      1. You can try to stay in the dream. To do this, stop whatever you are doing and try to stabilize once again. This can help. Again I like to stabilize with RCs.
      2. You can allow yourself to wake up. Remember to write you dream down immediately upon waking, so you don't forget anything.
      3. You can DEILD. Just allow yourself to wake up, but do not move and keep your eyes closed. Again remain calm and you will be able to physically/mentally "feel yourself" wake up and then enter back into the dream state.

Well, I hope I helped a bit! Good Luck with the WILDing!
