Good thing to do while I wait to WILD?

When trying to preform a WILD, in the period where you wake up in the middle of the night and wait for about 30 minutes, then go back to bed, what are some good things to do? Should I listen to an ipod, or play with a puzzle (like a rubik's cube or something)? Thanks.

First off, go to the bathroom. Nothing can ruin a WILD like a full bladder. Then, just do anything that would keep you occupied but not get you too awake. Read a book, listen to some music, watch a bit of TV. Anything you want really, as long as you don't get too awake to not be able to fall asleep.

Ahhh fuck I tried my first WILD last night and it was horrible. I did everything I was supposed to do but I just never got sleepy again after I woke up. What the shit.

Adjust the time that you are up for. Some need up to a hour of being up, while some only can wake up, roll over in bed, and start WILDing. Try out different times to see what's right for you.

It might be better to avoid lights, especially things like TVs and computers. Those can really mess with sleep cycles, and I can see how they could wake you up enough that you can't return to sleep.

Last night I woke up at 3, got up for 10 minutes.. tried to wild, then decided "Screw This, I'm going back to bed". It was probably because my dream recall was CRAP last night.
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...

I'm sure your advice is useful, but in your signature, you clearly show how many WILDs you've experienced... none. So do you actually know what you're talking about?

After reading many tutorials and reading many people's questions where experienced people answer, you can learn many things without actually experiencing them. I cannot tell you what SP feels like or what a nice vivid LD is like, but I can tell you what others have experienced, and I can tell you what I have learned from the tutorials and many other question threads on WBTB times.

Basically I learn from other people's experiences and questions. Tutorials are also a very good source of knowledge on LDing.

My favorite thing to do while waiting to wild for 30 minutes is just to do what i'm doing now, and that's going to dream views and read up on the tutorals and other techniques that people have used.
