Sleep Paralysis is so uncomfortable! How do you get past this?

I have tried to WILD and have gotten to sleep paralysis perhaps 8 times before, but I always end up giving up after a relatively short amount of time after the SP because of how uncomfortable it is! It's so uncomfortable that it seems impossible to get to sleep while in it! I usually lay there in SP for around 10 minutes or so, before I end up coming to the conclusion that I am in to uncomfortable a position to ever get to sleep, and the discomfort of staying in SP makes continuing with the WILD attempt not even worth it. I can usually stay in SP for as long as I feel like, but SP is far from enjoyable for me. I don't even experience any hallucinations with SP whatsoever, probably because of how the discomfort keeps my mind wide awake. It seems as though I can lay in SP the whole night, and my mind won't even sleep for a minute...

Do any of you experience the same sort of discomfort with paralysis? Is there any way to ease the discomfort so that you can fall asleep? I feel like this is most likely the main thing that's holding me back from successful WILDing...

I even woke up from a dream early this morning in SP, and I thought I had this in the bag. I tried visualizing the dream I woke up from so that I could get back into it and be lucid, but there was just no hope, SP was just so uncomfortable that I couldn't go back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. I eventually just gave up, got myself out of SP, and went to sleep.

I'm amazed that SP doesn't wake me up every time I go into it during sleep... It's strange, because it always keeps my mind awake if it started while my mind was awake.

      I agree.
I will suddenly get an uncomfortable feeling and think there is a bug on me, or get an itch, or get a huge urge to turn over and move. Last night I relaxed, breathed slowy, and got into the most comfortable postition ever. Once I got past the ticking sensations and uncomfortable itches, SP was a joy.
Just hang in there. Think about something else. I was told its your brain trying to see if you are still awake. If you don't move (it'll take some mental power) you'll be fine after a few minutes.

I've also read that those sensations were your body checking to see if you're still awake. Those usually come before complete SP.

I have a problem with what goes on once you have reached complete SP. Even if you disregard the itches and all that, the very sensation of being unable to move, and just being stuck is uncomfortable to me. It's hard to explain, but I just hate it.

But maybe you are right in that if you wait it out for awhile longer it will become more comfortable. I guess I'll try to tough it out even more the next time I try (as long as I don't feel like I really need sleep and the sleep paralysis is cutting down on necessary sleeping hours).

Still, open to suggestions, as it seems like it would be impossible to get used to that dreadful, restricted feeling. It almost feels as though there are people standing over me, holding down my limbs and the rest of my body to make sure I don't move. It's hard to fall asleep with a sensation like that .

Hmm, I found it relaxing last night when I got to full SP. Although I couldn't feel the bed after a while (a start sort of numbness) and even though I was relaxing I felt tense. I understand what you mean now...

I've felt full sleep paralysis once, and only for a few seconds. It was extremely comfortable for me.
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...
