Hey everyone,
I first became interested in lucid dreaming a couple of years ago, but slowly lost my motivation and stopped working at it. Last week I spontaneously had a lucid dream, and with that I regained my interest and motivation. Anyways, I've been reading up on all the different techniques, keeping a dream journal (my recall is satisfactory... generally 1-3 full dreams recalled per night + fragments of other dreams), etc.
Anyway, last night I had about 7 hours of sleep, including one or two vivid non-lucids. When I woke up, I half wanted to get out of bed and start the day, but before I knew it my body was drifting back into sleep. I felt some light vibrations and started seeing lots of spots of color... and I went along with that. For some reason though, I didn't seem to be progressing beyond this point... after several minutes of waiting I was still getting nowhere so I woke myself up.
Am I doing something wrong here? Does my mind need to be a little less "alert" at this point, or do I need to be more patient?
